Henry Flower opens his barber shop

The family story begins in Palace Street, Canterbury — the first generation behind the chair.

A first

Charity Flower — a pioneer

Henry's wife Charity is said to have become the first female barber in the country.

Ernest & Bertram carry it on

Their sons establish shops in North Lane, Canterbury — keeping the craft in the family.

1985

Steven James is born

The name arrives on Castle Street, named after the family's own sons, Steven and James.
